I was born and lived in the neighbouring town of Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire until 2013 when I then relocated to South Derbyshire shortly after getting married to my wife Jennifer.
We originally moved to Hatton before finally settling down in Scropton in 2015. We have four children, two of which attend high school, one at primary and the other at a local nursery. I own a local marketing company within South Derbyshire and also work as the Managing Director for a national recruitment business.
I like to keep myself busy and spend time with my family and friends. I was fortunate enough to join the Hatton Parish Council in 2015 where I worked with the local residents there for over two years. During this time, we secured funding to develop a fantastic new play area on Scropton Road as well as regularly improving local amenities. I believe it's important to improve, respect and care for the area in which you live.
I've always been interested in village life and love the way communities work closer in villages than in bigger towns and cities. Listening to people's thoughts and opinions is very important to me, it's something I do daily within my business. having an 'open door' policy and offering complete transparency is essential for both resolve and success.
I've always had a keen interest in politics as I believe it's important to debate topics with as many people as possible to come to the best conclusions. I want to encourage local families to spend more time together, enjoy the outdoors and socialise with others. South Derbyshire to me is one of the best areas to live in the country and my aim is to make it even better.
