Councillor John Lemmon

Having lived in the Etwall area for 40 plus years, I am married to Sandra who provides me with excellent secretarial support in my role as a District Councillor. Over the past 25 years, I have endeavoured to represent the interests of residents within the Etwall Ward and South Derbyshire as a whole and my commitment to this task remains as high as ever. This has been well demonstrated by my attendance record at Council and other venues throughout the district. Since the Conservatives gained control of South Derbyshire District Council (SDDC) in 2007, I have been Chairman of Housing, Community and Leisure Services, working closely and effectively with senior management and our many partners to ensure that the services and facilities that we provide are maintained to the highest standard and offer “value for money”. I am Chairman of the South Derbyshire Strategic Sports Committee; Board Member of the Sharpe’s Pottery Heritage Trust and the East Midlands Museum Services; Council Representative on Committees including Etwall Leisure Centre Joint Management, Toyota Liaison Group, Home-start, the People’s Express and Staying Healthy and Inequality Programme Board. More locally, I am an Etwall Neighbourhood Watch Street Coordinator and Chairman of the Trustees of the Sir John Port & John Osborne Alms Houses Charitable Trust.
