Biography:
I have been a governor of the William Allit School for about 30 years and Chair of Governors for the past 17 years. I visit the school at least once a week and often much more. I have been involved with many of the appointments of staff and I know most of them personally. We have a very good governing body who work very hard to make sure the school stays in tip top order. I am a director of Sharpe's Museum Heritage Centre. I was a member from the beginning of this concept and am Vice-Chair of the Board. This is a very exciting project and since its conception has grown by leaps and bounds. There are very good concerts in the kiln and many more things happening such as farmers' market and craft days, antique fairs etc. so this keeps us on our toes. I am a director on the Board of Phoenix Afterschool and Holiday Club. This has been in existence for many years and I was one of those responsible for making it happen back in the 1980s. We take children from the age of 4 years to 14 years at the moment and we are hoping to be able to expand in the future. Phoenix is also a training centre for childcare. I also sit on the board of Relate and Age Concern. As you can see I have quite a busy life apart from being a councillor. I really enjoy doing all of these things. If you need to get in touch with me for anything, please ring my mobile number which is 07846 160173. My home number is 01283 819661. Advice Surgeries I hold surgeries with my Newhall & Stanton Ward colleagues as detailed below but I am available on my phone at any time: 01283 819661 / 07846 160173.
