I was first elected to South Derbyshire District Council on 3 May 2007.
I have lived in the village of Egginton for many years with my family. After a university education at Sussex and Sheffield, I worked in research at Broadcasting House, London for the BBC and in publishing, as editor for a Local Government Journal. I am also a Company Director. I have wide ranging interests and enjoyed membership of a number of committees including Housing, Finance, Environment and Planning. Currently, I am the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group and Chair of the Area Forum for the NW Parishes. I am particularly interested in our built and natural environment and in ensuring that we continue to live in healthy, attractive, safe and prosperous communities. I am deeply committed to ensuring that the opinions of the residents of the Etwall Ward are listened to and that their concerns are fairly and robustly examined. I am deeply indebted to my residents for electing me and pledge to work hard and do my best for them.
